PATTIE CAKE
This site is dedicated to our
very first Westie --
Pattie Cake -- her time with us was far too short -- we know she is
waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for us -- keeping all the other dogs there
in line!

DIXIE PEARL!
Born November 8, 1997
 Dixie
(appx. 8 weeks old!) with her big sister, Peaches! Check out that TAIL! Born fearless! Dixie was such a maniac as
a puppy, I wondered if I had made a mistake getting her! All she
wanted to do was ATTACK anything that moved -- especially your HANDS and
FEET! OUCH! Those TEETH! But, of course, she was NO
MISTAKE! And here is a photo of our Peaches -- she passed away very
suddenly February 2, 2002.
"No
one can get my ball without my knowing it! I love my ball! I
can fetch it as many times as you can throw it! Mom and/or Dad play
with me almost every night. You should see me catch! I'm
pretty amazing!
Whoa,
Mommy said there was an "accident" . . . I better hide here
until it's all cleaned up!
Okay
-- I'm grown now -- no more accidents . . . but I just saw mommy get a
towel out and there is lots of running water . . . I'd just better stay
here, out of the way until all settles down around the kitchen sink!
"MOM! Time for a grooming!
-- Ahhh, thanks! Golly, I'm gorgeous! I'll just pose right here
while you take my photo!"
DAISY DOLL!
Born August 15,1996
Hello!
I'm Dixie Pearl's mother -- but I don't think she knows it because I came
to live with Mom and Dad after Dixie was grown! I let her
"think" she rules the roost -- but Dixie, Lacey and Marti
(especially Marti) know when it comes right down to it, I RULE!
I'm
such a pretty girl -- my mom tells me this all the time, so I know it's
true! I love to play ball first thing in the morning while my mom is
preparing my breakfast! Mom says I'm the happiest little dog she's
ever met -- she calls me Happy Daze! I'm very mellow -- of course,
until something gets me going -- I'll tell you about that snake bite
sometime!
 Life
is tough -- Mom keeps calling me Mrs. Astor . . . I have NO idea what she
is talking about -- (yawn . . . I think I'll take a little nap!)

LACEY BELLE!
Born November 29, 1998
I'm
the baby -- (actually Marti is younger, but she came to live with us after
she was grown -- so I'M THE BABY!!!!) Mommy and Daddy call me the
BUNKIE! It's true -- kind of embarrassing. I LOVE to be
outdoors -- here I'm in my favorite place -- a flower pot! Mom wants
to throw the old broken thing out, but I will NOT LET HER! I love my
pot! (The pot is missing -- hmmmmm, wonder where my pot went?)
Mom
says I have very delicate features -- I am a pretty girl, I mean, heck,
even I know that! I have very soft hair -- it's not wiry at all --
they call me softback! They have lots of nicknames for me -- the
latest is The Terminator -- I'm not too fond of that new Westie, Marti -- I
growl at her a lot. My favorite toy is a stuffed hedgehog. I
love my hedgehogs. But when I'm not looking Marti steals them and
tears them to shreds! Marti is a pain! So mommy just put them
up! That Marti . . . she'll get hers . . .
Here
I'm posing for YET another photo for my mom! She is always snapping
pics of us for some strange reason! I am just back from the
groomer's -- Mommy calls it the Day Spa! Mommy says she wishes SHE
could go to the Day Spa! Ha! I say mommy has NO IDEA what all
they do to us there or she wouldn't want to go!
As
you can see, life is pretty tough for us here. I'm in the middle --
Daisy is on the left and Dixie is the daredevil sitting up on the arm of
the chair! Mom is saying something about something being spoiled . . . what
IS she talking about?
MARTI GALE!
Born January 13, 1999
Hi,
I'm the nutcase in the family (you know how every family has one? -- well,
I'm it!!) My name is Marti Gale. My Mom's middle name is Gail,
so I am her namesake -- but she changed the spelling because she said I'm
like a whirlwind! I just came to live with my new family in May of
2001. I was rescued from a shelter. 100% Westie!
Mom
doesn't have too many photos of me yet -- why, you ask? Well, every
time I see the camera flash I think it's lightning and bark my head
off. I also bark like a maniac when a doorbell rings on
television. I hate thunder and lightning and even the flashlight
beam! But I love the water hose! What fun!!! When I
first came to live with my new family I was very defensive -- ESPECIALLY
about my food. But my mom makes sure I have my own bowl and PLENTY
to eat and when I get done with my food, I don't try to steal the others'
any longer. I go straight into the house and my Mom gives me a
treat! So, I'm much better about that now! I was kind of thin when
Mom got me -- I only weighed 13 pounds!!! But I have gained about 2
pounds! No more ribs showing! I sleep in the bed with my
three sisters and my mom and dad every night. I like to sleep on
Mom's pillow. My Mom loves me very much -- she tells me every day
many times. She helps me get through thunderstorms too by rubbing my
tummy and singing to me and I think that VALIUM may be helping
too! When I first came to live with my new family, I had a
terrible attitude -- I wanted to be the lead dog, but unfortunately, so
did everyone else! Dixie beat me up -- it didn't hurt anything but
my pride. So, I thought maybe I could be the second in
command. But Daisy picked me up and shook me! Whoa! No
damage done, except to my pride once again. So now I'm trying to be
third in command. Lacey and I are working on that. Most of the
time Lacey and I are good friends until Mom and/or Dad come home!
Then I want all the attention! We all walk around with our tails up
and have what Mom and Dad call a "Growlfest" . . .but most of
the time, life is VERY VERY good here!
RUFF
N. ROWDY
Born Approximately September 26, 2001
 My
name is Rowdy ... actually, my whole name is Ruff N. Rowdy ... and the
name suits me perfectly! I am a rescue who lived my first year or so
in a cage at a puppymill. I came into rescue in September 2002 when
a nice lady pulled me out a kill shelter in Conway, Arkansas.
Fortunately, they didn't know all the problems I had or I'm sure they
would have left me in the shelter (whew!) Anyway, my
"foster" mom took one look at me and said, "Let me take him
home and assess him." So off to her home I went. I was
very anti-social and every time she tried to pick me up, I would bite her
... I had trouble walking too because I had never walked on anything but a
wire bottomed cage before. She quickly realized I am blind in one
eye and don't see real well out of the other eye ... besides all of those
problems, I also had a horrible bacterial infection in my mouth and on all
my legs where I had had to stand in my own waste ... so, my foster mom
realized I was not going to be able to be adopted out sooooo, she just
kept me! So now she is my real mom! She took me to the vet and
got me some serious help. The vet said that I'm blind probably
because someone whacked me
in the head OR because another dog attacked me and hurt the nerves that
run along the side of my head. At least I can see enough to be able
to chase a ball ... I can't catch it out of the air, but I do try and I like
to chase it as it rolls along the floor or out in the grass. I have
to take a anti-anxiety pill every other day to keep me "happy"
and after a whole year with my new family, I have now started to wag my
tail AND I keep my tail up over my back like a Westie should! (See,
my tail used to stay tucked and I stayed hunkered down all the time ...
very frightened ... especially around the other dogs). My sisters
are VERY good to me (they were kind of mean at first) ... but I know they
are not going to ever hurt me ... sometimes they growl at me, but I can
deal with that! I have lived with my forever family for over a year
now and I really love them, and the best part is they reallllllly love
me! My mom must tell me 100 times a day! Golly, Mom!
It's kind of embarrassing! My daddy calls me his little man!
Daddy will play hand bitey with me and I really enjoy that! Mom is
too much of a wimp to play that game! It's for boys only! That
photo of me and my daddy above ... we are just sharing some chicken ...
mommy usually holds me in her lap at dinner time, but she was busy so I
just got up in her chair and helped dad eat his dinner! I have
learned a lot in the past year and the thing I like the most is knowing
that there is love out there for ME! Lots and lots and lots of love
just for me!
Meet our brother -- Curlee!
